Why do i see many drivers? Below is a list of drivers that may be suitable for your device.

With the different devices, they can have the same driver, it's because they all use the same chip manufacturer. How to select driver? If you are looking for an update, pickup the latest one.

If your driver isn't working, use the driver having the same OEM with the your laptop/desktop brand name.

They give you stickers! Morning all, occasional lurker, first time poster. I own an Acer Aspire V5-122p - It's basic but does the job, or did do for a while. Decided to try and downgrade my laptop, which was originally shipped with Windows 8.0, to Windows 7 (64 Bit) as a result of the botched forced rollout of Windows 10, which caused it to run so sluggishly it was basically unusable, even with the usual speed-boosting techniques applied. Long story short, after much battling with stubborn drivers, and a lot of switching my memory stick to and fro between its one functioning USB 2.0 drive and my desktop unit, I've managed to install pretty much every driver I need except one - the USB 3.0 port on the left hand side. Now according to pretty much every website I've scoured, the correct driver is the AMD USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (0100 (Microsoft) Standard SATA AHCI Controller).

However, whenever I try to install what is claimed to be the 'driver' for my port, all it does is try to install a new copy of the AMD Vision Engine Control Centre (Catalyst). Nowhere have I actually been able to find a driver for the USB port itself that doesn't come bundled in with Catalyst, and I'm struggling to work out how this program has anything to do with installing the necessary driver. I have been able to pinpoint the correct driver in the download folder, but every time I try to install it gets stuck in a loop of asking to redownload the catalyst installer Worth noting that AMD UMBus is having trouble installing - though I don't understand why that's causing the install loop. I know the port itself works, as I can charge devices from it and my mouse, if plugged in, draws power but simply isn't recognised by the PC. I am also aware that as a machine that shipped with Windows 8, there are parts of my V5-122p which weren't designed for Windows 7. I don't buy the argument that it will never work, as some more doom-mongering respondents on other similar issues have suggested - after all, I had a lot of trouble getting WLAN to work, and yet I'm able to post here now!
